A new chapter for Reltio: SAP to acquire Reltio to help make enterprise data AI-ready
Today, SAP and Reltio announced that SAP has agreed to acquire Reltio. It’s an important moment for our company, our customers, and our partners—and one we’re incredibly proud to share.
At the center of this announcement is a simple idea: enterprise AI is only as strong as the data behind it. When data is fragmented across systems, domains, and business units, it becomes more difficult to trust, connect, and use effectively with AI. The goal of this combination is to help customers make both SAP and non-SAP data AI-ready.
Why this matters now
AI is moving quickly from experimentation into real business operations. As that happens, the challenge is no longer just access to models—it’s access to trusted, connected data with the right business context.
That is where Reltio has always focused. Our platform helps organizations manage and govern structured and unstructured enterprise data from start to finish. With AI-based entity resolution, we identify and merge related records from different formats and applications into a reliable, holistic view and a trusted system of context. That gives organizations a consistent and holistic view of customers, products, suppliers, locations, and employees across both SAP and non-SAP applications.
SAP’s vision is to strengthen Business Data Cloud and accelerate its evolution into a fully interoperable enterprise data platform for enterprise-wide agentic AI. Bringing Reltio into that vision is intended to help customers unify, cleanse, and harmonize data across sources so analytics and AI agents can work from trusted, high-quality information.
What Reltio brings to the combination
Reltio was built for complex, multi-vendor environments. Our cloud-native, AI-first platform is designed to work across heterogeneous IT landscapes, helping customers connect and govern data that lives across many different systems.
That foundation matters even more in the AI era. Trusted unified data improves the quality of analytics, supports better business processes, and gives AI systems the context they need to operate more reliably. For customers, that means fewer silos, cleaner data, stronger consistency, and better outcomes from automation and AI.
The press release also highlights areas where Reltio adds immediate strength:
- AI-based entity resolution that helps identify and merge related records across systems
- Intelligent Data Graph innovation that helps create richer, connected context across enterprise data
- cloud-native architecture built for enterprise scale
- low-latency delivery and support for modern AI workflows
- industry-specific velocity packs for sectors such as life sciences, healthcare, and financial services
What this means for customers
For customers, this announcement is about expanding what trusted data can do.
SAP intends to use Reltio to help make enterprise data fully AI-ready, so customers can rely on trusted, high-quality data across SAP and non-SAP sources. That data can then serve both traditional analytics workloads and newer AI-driven use cases—including SAP’s Joule and Joule Agents.
Just as important, SAP has made clear that Reltio will remain available as a standalone offering. SAP also intends to provide a flexible commercial model, with the ability for customers to purchase Reltio as a separate solution or alongside other SAP products.
That flexibility matters. Many organizations operate across a broad mix of SAP and non-SAP systems, and the value of Reltio has always been in helping customers create trusted, consistent data across that real-world complexity.
What this means for partners
Our partner ecosystem has played a major role in helping customers solve complex data problems across industries worldwide. That continues to matter.
One reason this announcement is meaningful is that it reinforces a shared focus on helping customers unify and govern data across complex enterprise landscapes. As SAP expands Business Data Cloud and strengthens its AI and data platform strategy, we believe that creates an even bigger opportunity to bring trusted data and business context into more enterprise environments.
A strong next step for our mission
As Manish Sood shared in the press release:
“Joining forces with SAP presents a tremendous opportunity for us to accelerate our mission. Enterprise AI needs trusted context that is open and interoperable across the heterogeneous IT landscapes our customers run. This combination accelerates our ability to deliver Reltio as the system of context across SAP and non-SAP environments, while maintaining continuity for our customers and our partner ecosystem.”
That captures this moment well.
For more than 15 years, Reltio has focused on helping enterprises unify fragmented data into trusted, usable context. That mission does not change. What changes is the scale of the opportunity to bring that value to more customers, in more environments, with even greater reach.
What happens next
The transaction is expected to close in Q2 or Q3 of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Following the close, SAP intends to integrate Reltio into Business Data Cloud, where Reltio will become a core capability within the platform. SAP has also stated that the Reltio portfolio will remain available as a standalone offering for the foreseeable future.
This is an exciting milestone for Reltio, and we’re grateful to our customers, partners, employees, and community for helping us reach it.
